Roshni Sheffield Asian Women’s Resource Centre
Lowfield
Working in partnership with Ignite Imaginations, a community art charity based in Sheffield, Roshni ran a series of five clay-based workshops for women from the South Asian community in Sheffield. The project was developed and driven by the women taking part, using clay as a median to create artefacts that symbolise their experiences of the pandemic. The final session included a celebration and showcase of the work created.
The creative process of working with clay was a form of group therapy for the women participating and Roshni used a volunteer from their counselling therapy service to help navigate and manage the sessions.
